The Sinclair will be a coffee shop in the morning and switch to a bar at night. Of course it had to be a 1920’s speakeasy style design concept since that literally is what it could have authentically been. An original gas station built during the prohibition that could disguise a bar.
When I described the interior design concept to my client:
“It will be sort of like grandma’s house?”
"No, this is your GREAT grandma’s house. She was a flapper in
the 20’s…. she doesn’t cook and lives off coffee and martinis.”
“OH! Perfect”.
(Also...What a personal victory to be able to make over the scary gas station restroom of my childhood)
